In May of 2010, Lyssa Adkins released the book Coaching Agile Teams: A Companion for ScrumMasters, Agile Coaches, and Project Managers in TransitionTeam to the world. Since then, Lyssa has established herself as one of the most respected and followed female stalwarts in our industry. She was there at Scrum Gathering 2013 in Las Vegas where the first spark of the Women In Agile movement was ignited, and she provided critical support for launching the early iterations of what we know today as WiA Org.
Coaching Agile Teams is one of the most popular reference guides for our community. It inspired a course by the same name from the Agile Coaching Institute, and has served as a gateway for leading many Agile practitioners to embark on their own personal Professional Coaching development journeys.
Early in 2020, Lyssa announced her intent to record and release Coaching Agile Teams as an audiobook, and chronicled her adventure with the project online. It was a thrilling day when she reached out to see if Women in Agile Org would collaborate with her on a podcast mini-series that not only told the story of her journey to create the audiobook, but also provide an opportunity to expand on topics, shine light on thought leaders advancing the practice, and share inspiring stories that shaped her own journey in Agile coaching.
Of course we gladly accepted this invitation to collaborate, and over the summer Lyssa and I began recording content across 10 topics that are being produced into the Coaching Agile Teams Podcast Mini-Series. (Learn more about it via that link.) We are thrilled to let you know that episodes of the mini-series will be available as part of the Women In Agile Podcast Series early next year! Please take a moment to subscribe and follow the series on your podcast provider of choice so that you get notifications as soon as new episodes are released!
Today is also an exciting day for the project because the audiobook is officially launched! You can get your own copy of Coaching Agile Teams: A Companion for ScrumMasters, Agile Coaches, and Project Managers in Transition from Audible. In addition to hearing Lyssa narrate the entire book, you’ll get a book club guide and other companion resources to support you as you navigate your own journey in Agile coaching!
